Ground floor and first-floor side extension including the alteration of the main roof for a loft extension in a detached 1930's property.

The new extensions have been designed simultaneously in order to achieve a harmonious balance of shapes and volumes that are sympathetic to the original house. The new main pitched roof has been extended, creating a central flat roof and adding a rear pitched dormer in order to accommodate a new master bedroom and ensuite.  The side ground and first-floor side extension blend with the original house by following the existing lines and heights. This extension has allowed us to accommodate two extra bedrooms and a shower room for guests on the first floor, and a boot room/utility room and storage space on the ground floor. The new spaces have also allowed us to optimise the internal use and flow of what was once a disproportioned house.
